Diarra from Detroit is an original series from BET Studios in partnership with Khalabo Ink Society (Kenya Barris’s production company)—As Creative Director, I led the creative vision across trailers and 360° marketing deliverables. Working in collaboration with Trailer Park Productions, I provided direction on editorial cuts, tone, and visual storytelling. The series, starring Diarra Kilpatrick alongside Phylicia Rashad, John Salley, and Kash Doll, demanded a campaign that matched its sharp wit and cultural relevance. In addition to trailer oversight, I developed campaign language, activation concepts, and event strategies for the LA premiere, Martha’s Vineyard screening, House of BET installation, and Atlanta premiere. I also collaborated closely with the art director and department for the visual identity of the campaign from concept through execution.

Shortly after it’s launch, Diarra from Detroit became the #1 show on BET+ and gained significant recognition across major awards categories including the NAACP Awards, The Gracie Allen Awards, and the GLAAD Awards.
